Justice for Jacob Blake

Justice for Jacob Blake
The Issue
Discrimination is a virus that has infected the country for more than 400 years, and we cannot tolerate this kind of hate, but despite our best efforts, the cycle of racism still persists throughout the United States and in the world.
At approximately 5 PM on August 23rd, a 29-year-old black man named Jacob Blake was shot multiple times in the back by police officers in Wisconsin. A video of this predicament shows Mr. Blake walking away from the officers and towards a car. He then opens the door when one of the them takes his shirt and fires his gun. After this incident, Blake was unfortunately hospitalized in serious condition in Milwaukee.
As a nation, we must use our constitutional right by speaking up against these atrocities to prevent cases of police brutality. Mr. Blake's resilience and strength during this challenging moment in his life proves that he is a true survivor that needs to be treated like a human being.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice should stand on the right side of history by giving Mr. Blake the justice he deserves. An administrative leave is not enough for the police offers; the DOJ should charge theme as a symbol of justice and peace, because the only way that we can fight against racism is by doing it together.
