For a landfill that's that's currently taking over 7,000 tons of trash per day, having this major increase in the landfill would be predicted to triple its threats to the environment shocks many in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. For the people there hearing that the DEA approved a 435 acre expansion gave them much worry for their homes and community. This landfill causes a major stench that reaches over 4 miles in radius, and its harming children and people with lung problems everyday. Tons of  leachate goes from the landfills to our sewers, lakes, and rivers, all in which we use daily and would greatly hurt our water. Studies have shown to even decrease your immune systems protection, causing you to have a higher risk of different types of cancers. With thousands of people being disgusted that this change is happening, we must do something in order to stop this change. With your signing of this petition, we hope that we can obtain enough support in order to stop this expansion in order to make their state a cleaner, safer place.
