Luzerne County Children and Youth Services has been a blight upon our county for far too long.  This agency has created more problems than solutions.  They do not conduct proper investigations into allegations.  They have been the cause of death of a child earlier in 2015.  As a result of this, the agency's license has been downgraded to a provisional status.  This is not satisfactory!  Their license should have been revoked so as to prevent this atrocity from happening again.

There have been numerous complaints about the agency and the problem is that very little has been done to satisfy the needs of those involved in the county.  They appear to come off with the attitude that they're untouchable and above the law.  Examples include placing protection from abuse orders without going through the courts.  They place their own order and believe it's valid.  They have also been going into homes and removing children without substantial evidence and warrants to do so.  How is this legal?  It's not.  It's corrupt!  Many parents have been falsely accused and no matter what the parents' testimony is, it makes no difference at all.  The words just fall upon deaf ears.  There have just been too many victims of this agency who obviously DO NOT actually care about the well being of children.  Just take a look at the Kids for Cash scandal.

We, the undersigned, believe that the removal of Luzerne County Children and Youth Services would be a huge benefit to all in Luzerne County.  Why should we tax payers have to contribute to something that clearly does not work?  This would also actually give protection to both children and parents alike.  There are other services available in the county that do their jobs properly and do work.  We need this change NOW!
