Almost everyone knows about puppy mills, and there is a lot of videos and sites exposing them. But what people don't realize, there are also kitten mills. This degree of cruelty needs to be put to an end.

Cats are forced to breed, the female is held down and repeatedly beaten to submit to the male. Mother cats are shoved in tiny wire bottom cages, she developes sores on her body and feet from the wire. Cages full of feces, and reak of ammonia, attracting flies and parasites. Mothers suffer from cancer, disease, and prolapsed uterus, is painfully shoved back in by the worker's dirty hands, and she is forced to breed again, most likely, it will fall back out. These cats recieve no vet care, barely enough food, diseased water or  toys or comfy beds. Kittens become smothered under the huge amount of cats in one cage, they also experience injuries from getting stuck in the wire bottoms. All cats are sickly, and diseased. Mothers are forced to reproduce every heat cycle she goes into, kittens are torn away from her at a very early age, and shipped out to pet shops accross the U.S.

Pet shops that sell them are no better, In the City I am in, there is one particular pet shop that sells kitten mill kittens, and houses them in terrible conditions. Kittens are placed in wire bottom cages, litterbox full of feces and urine, kittens have no place to rest their sore feet other than their foul litterbox. This particular pet shop is Gittlers, right here in Johnstown, PA. I saved all 3 of my cats here, I could not stand to leave them. When purchased, kittens are ripped out of the cage by their tails and legs, and shoved into cardboard boxes, then kicked aside. Kittens are sickly, skinny, and covered in fleas.The sad truth is, 85% of pet shops that sell kittens treat them this way, if we put an end to kitten mills, this would never be the case.

These cats witness death on a daily basis. Many die of disease, others die from being beaten, starved, or smothered. Cage mates witness the death of annother in front of their eyes, the deceased bring more bacteria and disease. This is no life for a cat, they're such smart, beautiful creatures, that deserve to be loved and pampered in their forever home.

Adopt, don't shop. Save many kitten mill victims from your shelter. Purebred doesn't mean the best, adopted is the best kind of breed, and will be so grateful you want to give them a home.

 Be these cat's voice, stand up for what is right. They do not deserve a life like this. Sign my petition and help put a stop to this Inhumane Industry.
