Every year from June to October, California sees some of the largest and most violent wildfires in the nation. Although we cannot prevent all wildfires, we can certainly prevent those caused by us. 

We should start by educating our youth. If wildfire prevention education is made mandatory in California public elementary, middle, and high schools, we will see a drop in human-caused wildfires. With fewer wildfires will come fewer fatalities and structures lost, along with a decrease in wildfire suppression spending.
