Fire Anthony Lynn, Gus Bradley and Shane Steichen
The Los Angeles Chargers are 3-14 in games decided by 8 or fewer points since 2019. Who to blame? The coaching staff; The Chargers are the best first half team and lose mostly every game in the end with a close score due to the conservative play calling. Anthony Lynn also has bias towards players he likes without taking into account their actual skill. (Ex. Tyrod Taylor and Justin Hebert) The coaching staff doesn’t believe in their own players which causes the team to not be able to close out. Shane Steichen is too fond of running the ball twice on first and second down and going three and out after not allowing Justin Herbert to spread the rock. Gus Bradley showed his inabilities in a 2019 Playoff game against the New England Patriots when he schemed zone coverage against Tom Brady and Julian Edelman with obvious indications that the zones weren’t working. Gus Bradley also let’s the foot off the gas defensively when the Chargers take a 10+ point lead, allowing the opposition to easily come back and gain the momentum. All in all, the Chargers inability to close out tight football games and the conservative play calling needs to be ended in order for the team to grow and become a true contender, and it all starts with the coaching staff; Fire Lynn, Steichen and Bradley!
