On October 1st 2021, my 12 year old daughter went with some friends to Armstrong Memorial Park in Streator, IL to play when she was violently attacked by a 25 year old woman she didn't know. This strange woman was identified as Briana Majercin, of Streator and she is well known by our local police department. She lives right across the street from the park. From testimony from other children and parents, Majercin came charging over started screaming at children to go get their parents so she could fight them. The children tried getting away from her which threw her into a rage. She ripped my daughters friend, also under the age of 13,  off of her bike then proceeded to punch my daughters friend in the face causing her to have a bloody nose. My daughter's friend was able to get away and quickly ran for help. She then spotted my daughter who was trying to walk away, and then began violently assaulting her, which another child had recorded. While my daughter was being assaulted, her 10 year old brother who my daughter took to the park, ran as fast as he could in terror home to get help. Majercin, then fled to the safety of her home, when parents came aware of the situation and arrived at the park. Majercin, tried denying the allegation saying it wasn't her, completely unaware that another child recorded the assault. She stated nothing happened at the park Police viewed the footage, and she was still wearing the exact same clothing as the woman in the video assaulting my daughter. When picked up and charged Briana then changed her story to children where licking dirty condoms. Majercin is no stranger to illegal activity. She has over 30 criminal charges with the LaSalle County Districts attorneys office ranging from assault and battery, resisting arrest, numerous orders of protections against her, prostitution, and traffic violations. At the time of this assault on my daughter she also had two active warrants for failure to appear for resisting arrest, and battery. She has already bonded out of jail.  Briana Majercin has proven time and time again that she is a danger to society, and if given the chance will continually conduct illegal activity. The time for chances is over. We demand that Briana Majercin be charged with Aggravated Battery of a Child which is a Class X Felony in the state of IL and that the districts attorneys office goes after the highest sentence. My child should have never of had to go through this, LaSalle County Districts Attorneys office I plead with you to get justice for my daughter, and to take this stand to ensure Majercin will never be able to hurt another child again.
