Sign this Petition to urge Publix Supermarkets to STOP the hand out of free Plastic Bags. We want Publix to follow companies like Whole Foods, Traders Joe's, Aldi, Burger King and Save-A-Lot who do not hand out free Plastic Bags. Over 150 cities in our country have now banned or taxed plastic bags. Countries like China, Australia, Bangladesh, Rwanda, France, Germany, Ireland and many more have taxed or banned successful plastic bags. Publix, your recycle bins do not work because only 12% of bags are recycled. You have to do more to encourage customers to use alternatives to plastic bags such as reusable canvas totes.

We all know how terrible plastic bags are for the environment; they choke wildlife, they litter our streets, they don't break down in landfills or in oceans. We don't need them, We don't want them. 

Bring your bag for shopping and refuse the free Plastic Bags from Publix until they STOP handing them out for free.
