Toca Boca - Please Address the Many Glitches

The Issue

I’ve watched Toca Boca World go from a magical creative platform to a glitchy, frustrating mess that randomly destroys hours of work. The worst part? Toca Boca clearly has the resources to fix these issues but chooses to release new paid content instead.

The Glitches Destroying Our Experience

I’ve compiled some of the major issues affecting thousands of players:

  • World Reset Glitch - When your entire world randomly resets, deleting all decorated houses, furniture arrangements, and customization. Gone. Hours of work vanished.
  • Disappearing Items - Furniture and items vanish from houses, especially after updates or when you switch rooms. You have to redecorate from scratch constantly. Or if you put a certain Home Designer furniture item in the trash…it closes out of the whole project and doesn’t save. 
  • Missing Gifts - Weekly Post Office gifts and Gift Bonanza items disappear permanently. I’ve had the game since 2017 and many gifts are missing at least for me.
  • Broken Purchases - Paid packs fail to restore after updates or device changes. You spend real money and get nothing.
  • Character Glitching - Characters walk through furniture, freeze, or don’t appear at all.
  • Duplicate/Missing Items - Food packs give you duplicates or missing items, making collections impossible to complete.
  • Crashes & Freezing - Constant crashes, frozen loading screens, and complete app failures requiring force restarts.
  • Audio Bugs - Music continues playing when switching rooms or stops entirely.

Why This Matters
We’re spending real money on a broken product. Parents and kids buy locations, furniture packs, and customization options, then watch them disappear. There are no refunds. No compensation. Just “try resetting your app” (which deletes MORE progress).


The game is advertised as a creative platform, but what’s creative about rebuilding the same house for the fifth time because another glitch wiped it? What’s fun about being scared to update the app because it might destroy your world?


Meanwhile, Toca Boca releases new paid content every week. New packs. New locations. New collaborations. If they have time to design, code, and market new products, they have time to fix their broken game.


The Root Cause
Based on player discussions and observations, it seems Toca Boca’s codebase has become “spaghetti code” … so outdated and poorly maintained that each new update breaks something else. They’ve been adding features for years without properly updating the foundation, and now the technical debt has caught up.


Fixing it would require significant refactoring, which costs money and doesn’t generate immediate revenue. So they keep slapping new paid content on top of a crumbling infrastructure.


What I’m Asking

 1. Halt new content releases until major glitches are fixed
 2. Release an emergency patch for critical issues within 60 days (by Friday, December 5, 2025)
 3. Implement cloud saves so progress isn’t lost forever
 4. Provide transparent communication about bug fixes with realistic timelines
 5. Compensate affected players who lost purchases or significant progress with free locations and furniture packs, or money back if they can show proof of what glitched.
 6. Commit to code refactoring to prevent continuous glitches
 7. Improve testing before pushing updates to players


We Deserve Better
I’m not asking for free content. I’m not asking for special features. I’m asking for the game to work as advertised.


We love Toca Boca World’s potential. That’s why we’re frustrated… because we WANT this game to succeed. But love doesn’t mean accepting a broken product while they profit from new sales.

Let’s show Toca Boca that their players aren’t going to stay silent anymore.

They need to fix their game before asking us to buy more content.
