Families deserve answers—not endless uncertainty.

Every day, thousands of immigrants, U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and their loved ones wait for USCIS to process immigration petitions that will determine the future of their families. While we understand that every case requires careful review, applicants should not be left in prolonged uncertainty with little or no meaningful communication.

For many applicants, estimated processing times have continued to increase over time, with projected completion dates repeatedly moving farther into the future. Families are left wondering why these delays continue and when they can realistically expect a decision. The emotional, financial, and personal toll of these prolonged wait times cannot be overstated.

Recently, many applicants also experienced an apparent issue with the USCIS online case status system, where cases unexpectedly displayed inaccurate statuses before later reverting. Regardless of the cause, the incident highlighted the importance of clear communication and prompt public updates whenever technical issues affect applicants.

This petition is not asking USCIS to approve cases without proper review or to provide preferential treatment. We are asking for a more transparent, accountable, and efficient immigration system that processes cases in a reasonable timeframe while keeping applicants informed.

We respectfully request that USCIS:

- Provide clear, regular public updates explaining significant changes in estimated processing times.

- Explain the causes of prolonged delays and increasing processing estimates.

- Improve communication with applicants whose cases remain pending for extended periods without meaningful updates.

- Publicly acknowledge and explain widespread technical issues affecting the USCIS online case status system whenever they occur.

- Improve USCIS operations and the overall case processing system so immigration petitions are handled more efficiently, consistently, and in a timely manner without unnecessary or extreme delays, while maintaining fairness and accuracy.

- Establish reasonable processing goals and provide public explanations whenever those goals are significantly exceeded, including what steps are being taken to address the delays.

- Continue identifying and implementing improvements that increase efficiency, reduce unnecessary backlogs, and provide applicants with greater confidence in the immigration process.

Immigration is more than paperwork. It represents husbands and wives separated by borders, parents waiting to reunite with their children, families planning their futures, and individuals who have followed the legal immigration process in good faith. Every unnecessary delay affects real people whose lives remain on hold.

We respectfully urge USCIS to improve transparency, strengthen communication, modernize its operations, and ensure immigration cases are processed as efficiently and timely as possible while preserving fairness and the integrity of the legal immigration system.
