This petition aims to gather the attention of ALL CAMPUSES OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES—ITS FACULTY, ADMIN AND PRESIDENT JESUS TORRES—AND THEREFORE REVISE THE TUP MEMORANDUM NO. 40 S. 2020 FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF BOTH THE STUDENTS AND FACULTY IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS COVID-19 CRISIS.

This is to urge the TUP Admin to revise the TUP Memorandum No. 40 s. 2020 that is insensitive to the students and their families' situation and having guidelines for online classes that are nonsense in a time of pandemic such as: wearing uniforms in their own houses while having their cameras open which consumes large amounts of data and prepaid load for those underprivileged students, having proper haircut (wherein students under 21 years old are NOT ALLOWED to go out as it is a violation of the IATF regulation) AND OTHER NONSENSICAL GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS THAT ARE NO USE FOR THE LEARNING OF THE STUDENTS ESPECIALLY IN A COUNTRY WHERE STABLE INTERNET CONNECTION IS NON-EXISTENT.

THIS PETITION URGES THE TUP ADMIN TO RETHINK AND REVISE THE TUP MEMO, ESPECIALLY IN A TIME WHERE FAMILIES ARE JOBLESS, MONEY IS SCARCE, AND SECURITY AND SAFETY MUST BE THE TOP PRIORITY IN A TIME WHERE A VIRUS IS THREATENING OUR LIVES.
