In 2016 NZTA started work on a project to deal with the horrific road toll and growing traffic issues on SH16 from Brigham Creek to Waimauku.

Four years later construction hasn't started and the most important part, Stage 2 - Brigham Creek to Kumeu, isn't funded and won't start being built until late 2021 or 2022.

Six years is far too long to wait to improve safety and solve the congestion on SH16.

We call on the NZTA Board, led by Sir Brian Roche, and Chief Executive, Nicole Rosie, to act urgently to fully fund and use every means possible to accelerate this project so construction can start in 2020.
