At long last the BBC Trust - the decision makers over the future of BBC3 - are asking for your views on plans to take it off TV. This means you have an opportunity to tell them exactly why closing BBC3 on television, cutting programmes and the budgets, and moving remaining content online is a bad idea.
This has been a long time coming - the proposals were announced by the BBC last March - and we've fought them all the way.
Now here are four steps you can take to make a BIG difference:
1. Visit this website and tell the BBC Trust exactly what you think. You only have to answer the bit on BBC3 - http://bit.ly/1sVCi9P - but click finish once you've done filled it in.
2. Tweet about the consultation. Just click this link - http://ctt.ec/2DV8U
3. Write to your MP about BBC3 - http://bit.ly/1dqIOIz - they should care because a General Election is looming.
4. Encourage as many people to sign our petition as possible in the coming days, we'll be delivering it soon - http://chn.ge/1527Tep
We have until 17 February to get our opinions to the BBC. We have been promised a fair hearing on the matter, and a final decision could be announced in April.
Today the people behind Have I Got News For You and Harry Hill's TV Burp launched a bid to buy BBC3. This may not be possible because the BBC do not want to sell, but it goes to show just how much potential the channel has remaining on TV and continuing to showcase new talent.
So it's down to you to help us #savebbc3. Already 266,000 have signed our petition - will you write to the BBC Trust to tell them what you think?
Thanks again,
