The long-awaited new series of Orphan Black won’t get a primetime slot but a showing at 2.30am. This is insulting us all. Will you help me complain? http://bit.ly/1LD3nl3. Just sign this web link. The BBC is clearly losing the ground war against our campaign. Young people do not want BBC Three to move online-only, so it is trying to manipulate viewers to support their proposals when everything else has failed. Unfortunately for a lot of Orphan Black fans they don’t know why the BBC is doing this – the BBC Trust hasn’t communicated well enough what’s going on, and the BBC appears to have little interest in explaining it on social media. It shows such little regard for young people: - They have made assertions about young audiences not wanting to watch television anymore – but moved the hits off the channel, cut popular programmes, and aired the same episodes of some shows every night. - They are airing new shows like the very popular Orphan Black at 2.30am manipulating the audience to ensure smaller ratings on television, and increase ratings on iPlayer. - They say they can’t afford to keep BBC Three but want to spend every single penny again on audiences already well served by the BBC (the BBC One audience). - They say young people are best placed to watch online but wanted to create a BBC1+1 because a “lot of the youth audience are unable to watch online content”. - They claim they want people’s views at the centre of all decisions about the BBC, but still have yet to listen to all of those arguing to keep BBC Three. How can the BBC Trust completely disregard what’s going on? When the BBC Trust’s Rona Fairhead said she wasn’t a cheerleader for the BBC did she really mean it? We’ve got until the end of the month before the final consultation closes. If you’re angry about the Orphan Black decision – even if you’re not a fan of the show – you’ve got to speak out. It takes seconds to sign here: http://www.savebbc3.com/orphanblack And finally, tweet the @BBCTrust. Just click here to send a tweet automatically - http://ctt.ec/4076I. It’s time they opened their eyes to what’s going on.
