To President Rodrigo Duterte, Senators and Congressmen, We are requesting to please put a focus on research, support, awareness and treatment for Dystonia patients. At present there is no cure, although there are treatments which can help to alleviate symptoms. Dystonia is a neurological condition characterised by involuntary and sustained muscle spasms which can force affected parts of the body into abnormal movements or postures. Dystonia is an umbrella term covering a number of conditions. In most cases, it affects the motor pathways in the brain that controlrecruitment and movement of muscles causing them to perform an action that leads to unwanted spasms.Impact Due to lack of program that addresses the health and medical care for people with Dystonia, many patients suffer and worse, even die for lack of proper treatment. We thus appeal to all our officials, to please support, revise and enact that this kind of disorder be included in the rare case registry.
