To stop Rotational Aquaculture in Great Pond and Coonamesset River in East Falmouth, MA
The Issue
We need to stop the creation of a Rotational Aquaculture Plan within Great Pond and the Coonamesset River in East Falmouth, MA which would block access to the public and association beaches, ramps and docks. It is also a hazard to boaters, kayakers and swimmers too. Though the Aquaculture Pods would not go the length of the Coonamesset River, the depth required to maintain them would create a treacherous and nearly impassable path for people using this public waterway.
The residents of Perch Pond, Teaticket and Great Harbors have already gotten together and successfully had the Rotational Aquaculture Plan moved from their beaches and waterways, and now it is our turn to do the same.
The next town meeting will take place on Monday, July 31 at 7pm at the Falmouth Town Hall. Please consider showing up to help show support of this opposition.
Also, please feel free to email the Falmouth Town Manager, Julian Suso to voice your concerns or ask any questions at townmanager@falmouthmass.us
Information is available on the Falmouth, MA Town Website. Please note the date is listed as June 28 as that was the Town Meeting where the original plan and location was presented and the location was changed to Great Pond and the Coonamesset River.
