Drivers are constantly driving over the speed limit here on beachside with no police in sight. Car Accidents and deaths can be avoided if we have flashing lights at cross walks alerting drivers there are pedestrians crossing, can save many lives. A 81 year old women was killed in Daytona beach shores on July 7, 2023 while crossing a crosswalk. This accident could have been avoided if their were lights at this crosswalk. I understand a lot of people are on vacation and are not aware of the speed limit  and not aware that they’re suppose to “stop” at crosswalks for pedestrians. Ensuring the crosswalks having lights can be both helpful to the pedestrians as well as the drivers. Crossing the road using the crosswalks where lights are flashing can prevent accidents from happening in the near future.
