The Ramayana and Mahabharata (the longest epic ever written) are the two great epics that originated in the Indian sub-continent and they both hold a great cultural, religious and emotional value to the people of India. The epics also hold a great value to many other South-East Asian countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Srilanka,... as they share the roots, beliefs and have been culturally connected since ancient times. Although the story of Ramayana and Mahabharata has been told numerous times over the years, there is still room for saying it again through the medium of Cinema creating a masterpiece that stands true to the values of the story and portrays them as beautifully and realistically as possible and connects with the people better.

    A masterpiece that is created with thorough research into ancient Indian literature and other available ancient literary sources in Tamil, the timelines of the stories, lifestyle of people in those times, the culture, values, beliefs in those times and portray them in a realistic way that brings justice to the great epics and the people who value them.

    Also, We have heard so many great western stories made into beautiful cinema and great masterpieces. I believe it is about time India offers the world two great stories/epics that will inspire thoughts and appreciation among the people of the world. It doesn't matter who funds and directs the project as long as the stories are told true to their roots and values. So I ask the production houses across the world,  best directors, cinematographers,... to create masterpieces without any biases that will stand the test of time. I also ask that the shows be dubbed into as many languages as possible with the greatest care to reflect the story as best as possible without changing contexts.

    I can assure you that there will be at least 1.5 billion people who will support the project and depending on the right outreach, it could reach the whole world. I don't want this petition to be made out as biased towards any religion or country or race or ethnicity. This project is not meant to spread propaganda or promote any religious beliefs. This is just a petition asking to tell two great stories with great values and historical importance that happened to be connected to an ancient culture and their beliefs and gives us a glimpse of their life in those times.
