Save the Beaconsfield Arms from Demolition

Save the Beaconsfield Arms from Demolition
The Issue
To prevent the demolition of the historic and beautiful Beaconsfield Arms pub which is currently proposed by planning application 19/06864/FUL.
The Beaconsfield Arms is a quaint, character building on Hughenden Road, High Wycombe dating to the early 19th century. It formed part of the estate of Benjamin Disraeli and is named after him as Earl of Beaconsfield. There has been a pub on the site since at least 1821 when it was known as The Horse Shoes. This means that for nearly 200 years, the site has been occupied by a building intended to serve the community.
We believe demolition of the building that housed the pub would have an adverse effect on the local area in depriving it of a beautiful building that is in character with the surrounding houses. Its demolition would have a further adverse effect on High Wycombe as a whole in removing a building with a clear link to Benjamin Disraeli: one of Britain's great Victorian Prime Ministers and arguably our most famous historical resident.
Prevention of the demolition would also prevent inappropriate development of the site the building occupies which we believe planning application 19/06864/FUL also proposes.
The building should be preserved by the Council on the Local List as a building of special architectural or historic interest and it should be returned to some form of community use for the benefit of all local residents.
