The Joker is the definitive villain of the DC Universe. After decades of actor portrayals, some great others not so much, it is time that the DC Movie universe gives the audience the REAL Joker!!! Not some dark take on the character, but the version from the comic books that has become a staple in American pop culture. I can think of no other actor in this day and age who could portray this character better then David Howard Thornton. 

David's commitment to the physical mannerisms and psycopathic demeanor, that is required to play such a role, was put on full display in the 2022 box office surprise Terrifier 2 where he plays a psycho clown with absolutely no talking lines but carries the movie regardless. In fact, in an interview I conducted with David he indicated that playing the Joker is his "Dream Role". He has also proven in his monologue from Alan Moore's classic Joker story "The Killing Joke", that he is more than capable of giving the Joker the proper depth and respect needed for such an iconic role. 

So Mr. Gunn, reach back into your past of independent schlocky horror and display this budding star for the whole world to see. Casting David Howard Thornton as the new Joker, can and will single handedly right the sinking ship that is the DC Movie Universe!!
