Through a misguided / misinformed situation, Ernie has been seized by the QLD Wildlife Officers and is to be relocated to Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre. 

Ernie is an 11 month old hand raised Emu who had come up from a loving home in Victoria at 3 weeks of age. Since then she has been loved by not only myself, but the general public and childcare kids.

She enjoys eating pellets and fresh fruit and vegetables from people's palms and has never been aggressive to anyone. Ernie is quiet and loving and has spent her many months growing up with Bert (her best friend who is an Australorp chicken) as well as Steve the goat, Dixie the donkey and Twinkie the miniature pony.

It saddens me that Ernie will be taken from her loving home and placed in an unknown environment purely due to a misunderstanding with the misguidance of which permits are required to keep wildlife.
