TMZ: Stop Transphobic and Homophobic comments on their website

The Issue

Recently I have noticed the level of hate comments towards the LGBTQ community has increased on the TMZ comment section of their website. It has gone to a new low when attacking our community. People feel it is now ok to call us hateful names and to openly suggest we kill ourselves. I understand that people attacking LGBTQ community on the internet is not something new or can it be stopped. What is upsetting to me is the lack of control TMZ has over their comment section. What is worse is when reporting such comments, nothing is done. When trying to defend our community or our rights to be who we are, the attacks increase without any protection or recourse from the site owners.

As a Trans woman I find these type of attacks against the LGBTQ community unacceptable. Change needs to happen to protect us from being the victims of these faceless people who hide behind their computers and feel they have the right to post such hateful comments. Telling another human being to go kill themselves based on their gender, sexuality, religion or beliefs is unacceptable and should not be allowed to happen.

I am not unrealistic, I know that their will always be faceless bully's on the internet. But if TMZ made all comments required to be approved before being allowed to be posted. Or if they had some type moderation in place that was enforced. This might protect the people who visit their website. This might lead to change with other public forums who have allowed this type of hate to be posted for far to long.

Here is my blog & video post about this situation:

(Please know that I try to add humor when making videos. Please do not be offended or think I am being disrespectful. We all have our own ways of dealing with situations that touch a place within us that is insecure)

I have attempted to reach out to TMZ by tweeting, using Instagram and reporting the hateful comments & posters accounts. They have never responded or acknowledge, no action has been taken. They did however remove one of my comments that lead to my blog post, yet left all of the hate comments & the comment from "Two_Gunz_45ACP" who posted that I should put a gun to my head?

Here is the link to one of the stories on TMZ. You will see first hand the attacks against the LGBTQ community, for this story is is mainly attacking the Trans community.

Side note, Change.org does not have an option in their topic section that I could use LGBTQ rights rather then gay rights.
