Time for a Change: Fix the Iconic 60th & Kalamazoo Clock Tower!

The Issue

The Story (The "Why")

If you’ve driven through the intersection of 60th Street and Kalamazoo Avenue in the last twenty years, you know the landmark: the towering analog clock at the Clock Tower Centre. It’s a signature piece of our local architecture but there’s just one problem.

It hasn’t told the right time in decades.

For too long, this neighborhood staple has been "frozen in time." While our community is growing and the 60th/Kalamazoo corridor is seeing exciting new developments and beautification, our namesake clock remains a symbol of neglect.

A clock tower that doesn't tell time isn't a landmark; it’s an eyesore. We believe that restoring this clock to working order will:

Restore Community Pride: Show that our local business centers value maintenance and aesthetics.

Enhance the Corridor: Complement the recent investments and new businesses moving into the area.

Honor the Landmark: Make the "Clock Tower Centre" live up to its name once again.

The Goal

We are calling on Redstone Properties (Property Management) and the City of Kentwood and City of Gaines to prioritize the repair and restoration of the clock mechanism. Whether it requires specialized parts or a modern digital retrofit that preserves the analog look, it is time to get those hands moving again.

Sign the Petition

By signing, you are telling the property owners and city officials that the details matter. Let’s show them that the residents of Kentwood and Wyoming want a community that is well-maintained and "on time."

Let’s get the 60th & Kalamazoo clock ticking again!
