We in Minnesota are known to be great leaders in this country. As great leaders we need to come together and recognize that Black Americans Independence Day is not July 4th, but in fact June 19th! We as the great State of Minnesota should recognize this holiday in honor of Black Americans in Minnesota and makes this holiday a state paid holiday for all of Minnesotans. WE will use this day to reflect on the past and come up with ways to move forward and contribute to make Minnesota a place of equality for all people.
