At governor Walls’ press conference on Wednesday November 18th at 6pm, he is expected to make an announcement canceling high school and youth sports in the state of Minnesota. As @landon_parker9 on twitter said and I quote “You’re going to pause winter sports when you haven’t even given us the opportunity to participate in them yet?! Focus on the age group that is the biggest problem instead of stripping kids of their lifelong dreams.” It has been shown that school age kids are experiencing high levels of stress and depression caused by this pandemic. Sports are a way for us kids to relieve that stress and become less depressed. It has also been shown that we are not the age group that is spreading this disease, and you yourself have said that it is the age group of 18-25 year olds. Don’t punish us kids for what they are doing. You claim that since you were “An athlete, coach, and high school official.” You know what is best for us kids. And while you may have been in those positions, none of them were in the middle of a global pandemic. So please Governor Walz hear us when we say you can’t take this away from us AGAIN.
