I’m sure that most can agree—Tik Tok is full of nothing but brain rot. People can say all they want that Tik Tok is better than most things out there and that it has its good sides, but I disagree. There’s been plenty of examples of Tik Tok ruining the world, and you don’t even have to look hard to find it.

Take some “trends” for example. These are a bit older (?) but still good examples. There was one trend which had teenagers going around and snapping pictures of their crushes in secret. Basically, a stalking trend. Another example is the whole stanley cup trend; don’t even need to explain, there’s so many videos on it. Another thing I should point out is how it’s making people stupider.

Some might still say it’s innocent, but there’s more, oh there’s way more. The amount of dangerous things that Tik Tok has caused people to do is outrageous. Take challenges, if you can even call them that, like:

• The blackout challenge 
• The Kia challenge
• The boat challenge
• The tide pod challenge (a classic.)
• The Benadryl challenge
• The outlet challenge
• and many more…

But it’s not just horrible “challenges.” Little kids go on Tik Tok all innocent, then come out influenced by the app, wanting things or talking about things they shouldn’t be. That may be more of a parent issue, but I’ll get on that too: parents go on Tik Tok, seeking advice (by the way never get advice on Tik Tok) and they come out as bad parents. And don’t get me started on the skincare trend. Little kids shouldn’t want skincare products, they should want legos, they should want racecars, toys, stuffed animals, anything but skincare!!!! I legitimately can’t find a single good thing about Tik Tok. It has caused so much brain rot, caused so many people to look stupid and become stupid.

You might be wondering: “What is the point of this petition? Why even make it?” Currently, Tik Tok is in the process of (hopefully) being banned. My hope is that, if the majority votes on here, the government will see how many people are in favor of getting rid of this app, and speed up the process. And to anyone who assumes I’m some boomer or older person simply hating on an app that has made the new generation happy, I’ll let y’all in on a secret. I’m 19.
