Underage smoking is a severe and serious global problem, however a global problem is a tremendous endeavor to face and such these petition is aimed mainly on local schools highlighting public schools in particular. 

As a widely known knowledge Smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung diseases, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Smoking can also increases risk for tuberculosis, certain eye diseases, and problems of the immune system, including rheumatoid and arthritis. Though this knowledge is widespread and even the smokers know of such, smoking is still as widespread as it is even children as little as 12 years old smoke not knowing or just oblivious to the effect it might cause in the long run. 

I myself witnessed these cases and what's worse is , it happened in school witnessing 4 students at least 13 years of age puffing away at there cigarettes without a care in the word oblivious or just don't care of the effect cigarettes can cause to them or all the people around them. Then I enquired as to what is the school's action in resolving such issues and witnessed teachers just reprimanding the students like it was not even a thing and in some cases they just don't bat an eye like their not even there . 

At such I would like to stress the urgency of new and mutch harsher punishments to those students that are caught, and as much as possible trace back the source of the cigarettes and dole out appropriate punishment to those who are involved.
