Punta Banda in Baja California is home to countless species as well as being a clean, clear piece of the coastline along the whale migration route from Southern Baja up to Alaska. I'm sorry to be late to this cause but better late than never. Tiger Woods and his Texas developer should not build their resort here. The people that live in the Punta Banda region have lived here for generations fishing, growing olives, garlic, and tomatoes. Even the damage from trucks traveling to and from the building site and the byproducts of construction will no doubt wind up in the ocean, never mind the runoff from insecticides and chemicals from golf 'greens'. 

In the late 90's many Americans were evicted from an artificial 'beach' made from a spit of land that looked very much like the artificial 'beachfront' property that the old Florida condos i.e the one that recently collapsed were built on. This artificial 'peninsula' altered the migratory patterns of shrimp and fish in the area and was thoughtless and gross: the beach was polluted with white suds along the shoreline from laundry, etc., and locals were affected. 

I love Mexico and I'm always ashamed to see Americans doing things in 'someone else's' back yard' that they can't, or wouldn't, do at home.

Have respect. Don't use your money to bully people, Tiger. 

Build it in Florida. Don't build it here.
