HIGH RISK OF LIFE DUE TO REOPENING OF COLLEGES AMID CORONA
The Issue
Amid the Covid-19 the decision on conducting final year exams in offline mode by Thapar Institute of Engineering Technology ,Patiala, has left students and parents worried.
Majority of final year(b-tech and masters) students are not willing to come to university under this worsening situation of Covid.

The authorities of the institute are forcing the students to give ESTs exams in offline mode and for this students have been asked to reach the college campus by November 25 when many of the students come from far off places like U.P., Orissa, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and far off Punjab. The main issue in this adverse situation is of travelling on public transport and reaching the institute.
It is found that in recent weeks there have been several cases in the college administrative -section itself. As was stated that all the norms of the social distancing are being followed in the campus but still the cases are happening inside the campus at an alarming rate. The college administration stating these norms of social distancing are themselves getting tested positive, then how come the mere students who will be traveling from various different places and coming from all walks of life would be assured of their safety.
Also the university claimed that the students, who are unwilling to appear in offline examination this year, will be provided 'U' grade which means un-attempted and have to give exams next year which is a matter of concern for students.
So it is requested that the exams for current semester should be taken online as per the prevailing conditions.
