Women are out working day in day out, both inside homes & outdoors, often travelling long distances from or towards the city. Indian Railways have perked them by facilitating escalators, lifts, two coaches reservation etc. Women commuters  include students, sole bread earners of the family, government service holders who after successful employment at commutable distances do not migrate to different towns, suburbs or cities but prefer to stay on & commute regularly.

Now with the growing number of women commuters there is increased crowd pressure on the existing two coaches wherein most find it stifling to travel by local trains at any time of the day . 

This is high time to increase the reserved ladies coach number to at least three. Most men, even in metro cities do not accomodate single lady passengers in the general compartments with elan, to put it without malign. Hence, most women do not opt for boarding the general compartments though there are 10 such & sometimes less crowded than ladies compartments. Its the need of the hour to increase the reserved ladies coach to at least 3 or none at all. Any Ratio of men is to women at workplace will reveal the justification  for doing so.
