The dress code at Thornton Fractional South High School has left many students outraged for the academic 2021-2022 year. The dress code is unreasonable and very outrageous. Students want to express their style throughout their clothing but the dress code is too strict to express anything. The TFS dress code is extremely MISOGYNISTIC and how nothing in the dress code is forbidding effects male students, it’s only targeted towards what effects male teachers ideologies of how ladies should dress. The ladies that attend TFS have to cover up their stomachs and their shoulders because they’ll become a “DISTRACTION” to the learning environment. If the staff aren’t able concentrate because of a students attire therefore, the teacher SHOULDN’T have the privilege of working at TFS. The men that attend TFS are not permitted to wear durags and hats. Durags and hats protect males with hair that they don’t want to show. Durags are NOT sign of Gang Affiliation, it shows that men actually take good care of their hair. On behalf of TFS students, we only want equity, freedom, and rights with our attire.
