Thomasville City Schools in Thomasville, GA has mandated that all teachers and students must wear masks. This makes learning difficult. Children (especially young children) cannot see their teacher's facial expressions, cannot distinguish sound/movement when learning to read, and are forced to comply with an order that many parents (and even children themselves) disagree with. Communication can be difficult enough at any age without the added obstruction on their faces. The Centers for Disease Control is recommending that masks be worn, however the CDC has also been proven to be inconsistent in their guidelines as well as with their Covid testing (false positives and false negatives) over the last 18 months. 

A petition may not change anything, but we can let the district know about the amount of disagreement regarding a mask mandate (and the lack of compliance) in our schools. Masks should be RECOMMENDED, not required. If you believe that we live in a democratic society rather than a dictatorship and would like your voice heard, please consider adding your name to this list.
