As global citizens committed to equality and justice, we cannot turn a blind eye to the persistent discrimination faced by the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community.

In as many as 68 countries, same-sex relationships are criminalized, and at least six countries have laws that can lead to the death penalty for homosexuality. In the United States alone, the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Projects reports that there were 52 hate violence related homicides against LGBTQ people in 2017 - the highest number ever reported. This exceeds regulations, this is about fundamental human rights.

 From employment, housing, healthcare, to other public services, everyone should have equal access and be free from discrimination regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. This petition aims to influence policymakers, urging them to enforce and enact laws that will stop this systemic inequality and prejudice.

We cannot reach true equality as a society until the LGBTQ community is afforded the same rights, protections, and respect as everyone else. Stand with us in this campaign for equality.
