Please join me in legalising Pitbulls in the UK

The Issue

The Breed Specification Legislation is wrongfully discriminating the Pitbull Terrior for the actions of humans. Why should the innocent dogs be blamed and judged for the cruel, sadistic way they are treated and raised? Please help me un-ban the most victimised breed of dog to ever exist. Humans have created their reputation ~ not the dogs.

Once upon a time, Pitbulls were the most popular nanny dog for young infants due to their loyalty and protective instincts. This all started to change fairly recently, and Pitbulls didn't get a bad rap until they became the guard dog of choice for drug dealers at the same time that dog fighting re-emerged in the mid-1980s. Unfortunately, due to their loyal and loving nature, they will be devoted to their owners and do anything for them. If an irresponsible owner chooses to take advantage of these characteristics, why is the dog and their whole breed blamed? Pitbulls were not the first, or only, breed to ever become subject to blanket bans. At various times, German Shepherds, Rottweilers and Dobermans were the breeds that were outlawed.

The sickening truth is that about 1.2 million dogs are euthanised each year. Around 40% of those dogs are Pit Bulls, because of the simple fact that people believe the stereotypes given to them by uneducated people. So please sign this petition to help legalise this gorgeous, innocent breed of dog who deserve the loving homes waiting for them in the UK.

The more homes available, the fewer dogs put down.
