Over the past few years, the YCDSB has had some serious difficulty with appropriately calling snow days. For example, today driving to school I witnessed two cars in the ditch, I nearly slid into a snow plow, and my typically 25 minute drive took 50 minutes. However, I am one of the lucky ones, there have been multiple accidents this morning and a tragic death on the QAW. Almost every parent, student and teacher in my school is asking why the YCDSB did not call a snow day as the roads are atrocious. The board needs to learn when the weather conditions are putting the safety of students in great danger. Please sign this petition so we can show them the implications of their actions.
