Stop over-vaccinating our pets! It is common that veterinary professionals in the United Kingdom encourage and push owners of dogs and cats to have their pets vaccinated annually. Core vaccines are advised to be given every three years  and the non-core vaccines are advised to be administered on a case by case basis only when needed by the WSAVA  but all vaccines are often given annually needlessly by veterinary professionals in the United Kindom. Titer testing could be used annually to determine immunity in dogs and cats and therefore could prevent needless overdoses of vaccination that is harmful to our pets. We, the undersigned, call upon the WSAVA, BSAVA and DEFRA to investigate veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses who actively encourage needless over-vaccination in our pets in the United Kingdom and we also call for you to encourage veterinary professionals, pet owners, pet-related businesses and associations to accept titer test records as proof of immunity in place or in conjunction with vaccination cards, so that pet owners can still take part in shows that require proof of vaccination or so pet owners can still use boarding or grooming services that request proof of vaccination.
