Why Duel of the Fates?

A few months after the release of TROS, the script for the original Episode 9, titled Duel of the Fates and written by Colin Trevorrow leaked along with a lot of concept art from the movie. That script and concept art had everything you would expect from a logical continuation to episode 8 and actually felt like a worthy conclusion to a saga spanning 40+ years. You can find the script online but I'll give you a little teaser for those who haven't read it. The final battle between the Resistance and The First Order takes place on Coruscant, yes that Coruscant, the most important planet in the prequels. Finn's arc ends with him leading a rebelion of Stormtroopers against the Fist Order. Kylo and Rey have their final battle on Mortis, the birthplace of the Force itself(Clone Wars fans know this one). Yoda, Obi-Wan and Luke show up during the final battle where Yoda admits that the Jedi ways in the Prequels were flawed. The film ends with Rey having achieved balance in both the Light and Dark side, something the saga seems to have been building towards. So overall we have a film that would have connected the Prequels, the Original trilogy, Clone Wars and even the Old Republic era. Sounds much better than TROS doesn't it? It would have actually made the Sequels feel like a coherent trilogy and would have connected them to the Saga a lot better than the board room movie that was TROS which was made purely due to course correction after the negative perception of TLJ. It's ironic that TROS ended up being considered probably the most soulless movie in the whole saga.

What can we do? 

Share the petition and spread the word. John Boyega has already expressed interest in making Duel of the Fates happen as he like many others was dissatisfied with The Rise of Skywalker. Let yourself be heard that you want Duel of the Fates to happen, let Disney notice the demand. If they see profit in it, Disney will consider making this a possibility and that way we can have both Duel of the Fates and The Rise of Skywalker and everyone will be able to decide which one is canon for themselves.
