With the release of "The Last Jedi", the portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the film has greatly polarized the Star Wars fanbase.

There are fans who couldn't comprehend why someone like Luke would not only just give up everything he holds dear to go to die alone on an exotic aquatic planet and there are fans who completely bought the concept of a more bitter and broken Luke who lost his faith & then regained it again at the end of the film to become the heroic Luke Skywalker we all know.

This petition seeks to request The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm to produce more in-canon Luke Skywalker content to bridge the wide gap between "Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens/The Last Jedi".

Be it solo anthology films, live-action/animated television series, books or even video games, we the fans sincerely request for more Luke Skywalker content because, to us, we are just not that interested in the journeys of Rey, Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron, Finn, Rose and BB-8.

Their journeys can be realized in "Episode IX" in 2019 for a new generation of fans who became fans because of Disney's sequel trilogy and there's no problem with that. However, for a significant segment of the fanbase, Luke Skywalker is the heart and soul of Star Wars and we hope you can understand no broom boy or drunken dealers' daughter can replace him.
