General Hux is alive!
General Hux is alive!
The Issue
This petition is for Disney, Lucasfilm, and the Powers That Be to acknowledge General Armitage Hux is alive - or at least keep it ambiguous - in future novelizations and new Star Wars material.
He's a fan favorite character since The Force Awakens, and should not have been treated the way he were in The Rise of Skywalker. In special, such unworthy death left us with a sense of indignation and sadness.
He would be a typical stereotypical villain were it not for the past he was given in material available outside the movies, which made him ambiguous and one which we are able to sympathize, or emphatize with, while not praising his actions. He can be considered a tragic figure, and that's why it's inappropriate and does not send a good message killing him this way.
Even if we assume that his actions in The Rise of Skywalker were not out of goodness of heart, but for personal reasons, it does not change the fact that he helped the Resistance to overcome the real, greater evil. Regardless of his motivations, the way he was treated in the last Star Wars movie raises our opposition. Star Wars should be about forgiveness and hope.
