Treasure Planet is one of the most underrated Disney movies in the history of the company.  When I first saw the movie, I was struck by its beautiful animation and relatable storylines. The movie has served as both comfort and inspiration for me, as well as for many others. It was a work of passion for its creators and only did so badly in the box office because it was released at the same time as a Harry Potter movie.  The world building is nearly as rich and in depth as the Star Wars universe, but the first movie left so much unsaid. The second movie was already in progress before Disney cancelled it. If Finding Dory can be released ten years after its predecessor, why not do the same for my favorite Disney movie?
