Give the complete series of "Fillmore!" (seasons 1 and 2) a DVD/BluRay/web stream release
The Issue
Fillmore! was a Saturday morning cartoon which aired on ABC for two seasons, from 2002 until 2004. Created by Scott M. Gimple (who is now showrunner for The Walking Dead), it featured the adventures of former juvenile delinquent Cornelius Fillmore (voiced by Orlando Brown-3J on Family Matters, Eddie Thomas on That's So Raven, Sticky Webb on The Proud Family) as he makes the most of his second chance to become the best Safety Patrol officer X Middle School has ever seen. With his partner, the determined no-nonsense rebel with a photographic memory Ingrid Third (voiced by voice acting veteran Tara Strong), the two's relentless pursuit of justice is recognized throughout X, but the collateral damage proves a constant source of aggravation for both the Patrol's shell-shocked Junior Commissioner Vallejo (voiced by Saturday Night Live alumnus Horatio Sanz) and the school's image-conscious Principal Dawn S. Folsom (voiced by Wendie Malick-Judith Tupper on Dream On, Nina Van Horn on Just Shoot Me!).
Nonetheless, the show is packed with solid writing, animation and music while tackling real-life issues which are still relevant to this day (such as peer pressure, bullying and even the standardized testing controversy) with a refreshing outlook, often delivered thanks to Fillmore's speeches being the best this side of Joe Friday.
Despite its strong critical acclaim and cult following, because of its low ratings and lack of promotion, Disney cancelled the show after only two seasons. Nonetheless, it retains a strong following to this day, and most involved fondly recall their time on the show. As such, we feel the time is right to FINALLY give Fillmore! its much-deserved release on DVD, Blu-Ray and various online paid streaming platforms; it will retain a solid viewer base and sales, plus there is no shortage of possible special features and commentary folk for a DVD/Blu-Ray release. Finally, generations to come will have a chance to experience the strong stories, action and life lessons this show brings.
So, give Fillmore! a much-deserved DVD/Blu-Ray release, and the benefits will come for years to come. Disco!
