This petition is to bring 2D back to Disney, not to replace 3D with it.

Disney was created by Walt Disney, a traditional artist who created animations. Soon movies were created, 2D animations showing in theatres and impressing everyone, old and young. These days, 3D and live action movies spread across the world, with very few 2D movies making the theatres. Disney used to be well known for movies such as Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Bambi, Brother Bear, and so much more. Each movie had incredible visuals, a thrilling plot, and important morals. Children were taught to treat people with respect no matter their size of race, and adults had sparkling eyes as they interpreted the story unfolding in front of them. Pocahontas was a 2D movie teaching all ages about racial discrimination and the preservation of nature.

While 3D animation can tell these stories as well, there's nothing like the charm of an artists hand at work, drawing movies frame by frame. Aspiring 2D animators such as myself look up to 2D movies, using them as our role models and what we wish to accomplish. Studio Ghibli is a successful 2D-only animation company. Disney can continue their 3D work, but bring 2D animation back from it's testing place, where they so quickly put it after their latest, The Princess and the Frog. 2D animation deserves more than juvinile cartoon TV shows.
