Australian communities are diverse and multicultural. The core Australian values is fair go where all people regardless background or race should be treated equally. Different ethnic groups have all contributed in our society today and one should not be favored over others and definitely measured over economical gains.

The insensitive act of flying the Chinese Flag and hosting a ceremony on Oct 1 China's National Day with the presence of Gladys Liu whose connection with Chinese government is still under scrutiny is totally inappropriate, not to say a slap on the faces of other ethnic groups. It displays ethnic preference and worries me whether equal treatment will be received by those who reside in Box Hill and surround. Are we not all Australians despite where we came from?

Our Australian Citizenship Pledge: From this time forward, under God,I pledge my loyalty to  Australia and its people, whose democratic beliefs I share, whose rights and liberties I respect, and whose laws I will uphold and obey.

I would like the Victorian Police to apologize for this totally inappropriate and insensitive act and assure our citizens this would not happen again.
