College students already have the burden of tuition, housing costs, groceries, etc. On top of all of these financial burdens, students are expected each semester to buy sets of brand new textbooks- some of which the teachers will NEVER use. It is an extreme waste of money seeing as though each textbook can cost anywhere between $50- $300, then multiple that by the number of classes the student is taking. Many students already have financial debt from loans and other life expenses, this is just another burden.

I propose that textbooks are included with tuition costs, meaning that the total price we already pay for tuition each semester will now cover the costs of the textbooks for those particular classes. Seeing as though you must sign up for classes and tuition is due at a later date, it would be very plausible to take action and make it so that the school registers what classes you have chosen and then provides you the textbooks free of charge. 

Each semester every single one of my friends, in addition to myself complains to me of the mass amount of money they have spent on textbooks that half of the time they either cannot sell back or did not use at all. Please consider my signing my petition.
