On Wednesday 9th December UWA Vice Chancellor Professor Paul Johnson betrayed the true spirit of the festive season by ambushing staff with the message that he would cut 300 UWA jobs in 2016.

In a letter served to the Vice Chancellor the National Tertiary Education Union alleges that he failed to make an effort to avoid forced job cuts and is responsible for multiple failures in his obligation to consult and provide information to staff and the NTEU.

We call on the Vice Chancellor to unilaterally withdraw his decision to cut 300 UWA staff in 2016.
