With the UT system making the smart call to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 by moving the remainder of the school session to an online format, it has been a great change for many who never experience taking a class online in such a short notice. With UTD allowing student to now opt-in to Credit/No Credit or Pass/Fail, depending on whether you're a undergraduate or a graduate student, some student, myself included, personally feel that we should move the deadline to choose if we'd like this option to pick or not until after finals are over and our teacher's have inputted the letter grade we would have received from taking the class. Some students are unsure whether the credit/no credit/pass/fail system would be beneficial for them, depending on our current standing in the classes we are in, and the drastic change in the environment we learn from now. Instead of the April 30th deadline, the decision for us to choose whether we'd like to have our GPA affected by the letter grade or swapped to CR/NC or P/F should be on the week of May 10th or the 17th, allowing students enough time to go in and decide what they wish to do. With the pushed back deadline, the students of UTD who take their final exams, and have their professor finally publish all their grades, can ultimately decide if they wish to opt-in for Credit/No credit or Pass/Fail.
