What does the Penn gain by making students choose pass/fail before we have taken exams and seen our grades?

If your grade was borderline before your final but you had to picked Pass/Fail, why try now? Even if you did great you’ll still get a pass.  
On the other hand if you want a letter grade, the unfamiliar format of online exams will compound the social, economic and medical stresses students are already experiencing. 

Sign the petition. If not for yourself then for those whose circumstances have not been quite as favorable. Let’s show that we are all in this together.
