Naughty Dog/Sony, we want your support!

The Issue

Just to give you an idea, the competitive community is a driving factor in keeping the franchise we love relevant, active and enjoyable for all types on a regular basis, with sufficient leadership and a strong goal minded approach. We want to be represented properly. We sacrifice time and put in countless hours of effort to make this game even bigger than it is, or what at least make Uncharted 3 what it should have been.

All we want is your support, your acknowledgement, your hand in helping us forge a community that will last well into next year and well beyond "Uncharted". In a sense, we are a growing section of the Naughty Dog community and we have been strong since the dawn of Uncharted 2. Only until recently have we banned together in order to create a lasting relationship with our competitive drive and the franchise we love.

You have the Uncharted Competitive League on FraggedNation and smaller entities that wish to form a portion of this community. Each group does their damnedest to keep YOUR game kicking when others will leave for "greener grass". Each group busts its ass for squat but honestly, we are volunteers first so we know what to expect. We just want you to help us grow this. Help us grow the idea and then we can make it something special. Something that hasn't happened before, until now.

Give us your ear, give us the time of day, just let us know you care. You won't regret it. Not one bit.

 Basic Breakdown:

- Support for Tournaments, Leagues and Events

- Social Media coverage for our events, leagues, tournaments (twitter, facebook, youtube, PS Blog)

- Big Prizes, Big Swag for Events, Leagues and Tournaments

- More to come

 For example:

- FraggedNation runs tournaments on a regular basis, as the mostly established portion of the community in terms of competitive play. These tournaments would benefit from the support of Sony and Naughty, not just on a financial level. Social Media support for these tournaments would sky rocket the amount of involvement from those who don't go to websites or blogs to find this information. Of course, it would be even better if Sony or Naughty Dog could help in producing prizes for those who support their franchise. This isn't a call to ask for even $100,000 or anything near that (although that would be amazing). Even if the support is miniscule, then it still shows that Naughty Dog and Sony care about the state of their franchise and those who strive to make it a better place within the community. It doesn't even have to be a cash prize. It could be basic swag that the companies have that pertain to the franchise or just Playstation in general.

Examples of other events sponsored or conducted by Sony and their partners:

- MLG Starhawk 20k Tournament (even if it is on hold)

- MLG KZ2 Online Championships 60k in prizes

- Gamebattles Resistance 3 15k Tournament

- another 20k Tournament sponsored by MLG for SOCOM 4

- Uncharted 3 Events sponsored by MLG (one of those events, I shoutcasted (Jason Heitman))

the list could go on but Sony has a competent organization in FraggedNation that could help establish a proper home for anything competitive in terms of Uncharted 3. Tournaments and events could be ran through this website and its partners. How this is ignored is beyond the capacity of the current situation.

- In general, coverage of basic community events, whether that is "community play event" or "a giveaway sponsored by a community member" or anything in relation to that would be successfully marketed on Sony/Naughty Dog's social media endeavors. Taking the time to broadcast and support an event created, run and distributed by a community member does not take much time. Showing the individual or individuals running any community related event, is a step in the right direction. Not only does it galvanize the community and builds camaraderie, it shows all those involved that there is someone else just as passionate about this franchise as themselves.

- More community involvement from Naughty Dog with their community is vital. Interaction on a more "intimate" scale is a necessity in the current climate. Taking the time to acknowledge, understand and involve themselves with community events, relations, projects, etc would help blossom a better foundation and future for the Uncharted franchise and in essence pave the way for other communities to do it as well.

- Having those in the community, contribute their hard work and dedication to the franchise in terms of social media, video content, and written work and beyond is paramount in the current state. For too long this has been ignored and the potential that having a more direct approach with the community could cause it to grow exponentially and add more of a "they care as much as we care" mentality. It's easy to simply brush aside most of what we do but acknowledging and taking the time to become involved with those efforts creates a sense of accomplishment and understanding between both parties. Examples would be Ambassador Programs for community members who have exhibited steadfast notions within the community tasked with the responsibility to help community members and also act as special "liaison". Another example would be taking advantage of social media outlets, Uncharted TV, YouTube and more to have community content become broadcasted at a larger rate than its current format.

- To continue on the competitive setting, the involvement that other communities receive from their developers and even the principal parties is essential when a portion of the community wishes to grow. To date, the competitive community has single handedly developed our own structure and game plan, without the help or acknowledgement of these efforts on anything above a miniscule scale. Taking charge and enabling the situation to grow can only benefit both parties, as there is little to conclude pertaining to a negative reflection of said organizations and mentioned "alliances".
