Invite Robert B. Whitaker to Speak

Invite Robert B. Whitaker to Speak
The Issue
People are being brain-damaged and are dying. Children are being forced on to drugs by state agencies, without considering safe alternatives, and too many are being taken, forcefully, from parents who wish to try alternatives and forced into foster care.
Robert Whitaker has written two books revealing how our country's overuse of psychiatric drugs is contributing to, if not causing, the mental heath crisis we find ourselves in now, one which our state repeatedly laments. And yet, so far, both the State of North Carolina and the mainstream press refuse to facilitate an open discussion on alternative therapies or on the damaging effects of psychotropic drugs.
Whitaker's research not only documents with impeccable accuracy the problems with the current drug-based system, but it also introduces safer and more effective solutions, like Soteria House and Finland's "Open Dialogue."
At the very least, we MUST begin an OPEN discussion, unimpeded by the powerful pharmaceutical interests pervading our system and our press.
Whitaker is generous enough to come where he's asked for minimal reimbursement of expenses. The least NC can do is INVITE HIM, while he's still available.
