Texas State University’s most prominent location Sewell Park is a place of relaxation and recreation. The city of San Marcos has reopened all outdoor recreational locations since late last year yet, Texas State continues to reject the motion to reopen the park. With the continuation of online classes and increased time indoors, students are becoming uneasy. It is well known that time spent outdoors has several health benefits including reducing stress and anxiety. Finally, the students of Texas State call on the administration to reopen Sewell Park.
